When I designed my engagement ring with the jeweller, this was suggested to me since I’m a seamstress. The jeweller himself said that prongs/claws can weaken over time and even fully break off if you keep having to bend them back into shape. My ring doesn’t catch on anything or get stuff stuck in it and it’s awesome.Before you buy another ring, I would try on a bunch of different styles and sizes (cheap CZ rings from Amazon) and wear them around for a substantial amount of time to see what you actually like.
